This powerful story of the French Foreign Legion turns 100 this year. In 1994, the Mont Alto Motion Pictore Orchestra scored their first silent film at the Chautauqua Auditorium, running a battered 16mm print of Beau Geste, starring Ronald Colman as one of three English brothers who join the French Foreign Legion to prevent a family scandal. Last year, a new restoration from archival material was made available for the first time, and this movie hasn't looked this good since its first release.
